Privacy policy
Effective August 22, 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how ProgressBar.today (“ProgressBar.today,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit the website, purchase access, upload a photo, create a wallpaper, restore access, or use the daily wallpaper endpoint.
2. Information we collect
- Wallpaper information: selected dates, heading, design, colours, font, device model, timezone, stock-background identifier, configuration version, and last-rendered time.
- Uploaded content: a custom photo you choose to upload. It may contain personal information visible in the image.
- Purchase and account information: checkout email, Stripe customer and transaction references, product purchased, price, currency, purchase status, and refund or dispute status. Stripe processes your card details; we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Access information: signed browser cookies, a randomly generated identifier for free use, upload-intent records, and the private wallpaper token used by your Shortcut.
- Technical information: IP address and limited request, security, rate-limit, and error information produced when you use the website or renderer.
- Communications: information you send when contacting support or making a privacy request.
3. Why we use information
We use this information to provide and personalize the service; process and confirm purchases; create, store, and render wallpapers; deliver a fresh image to your Shortcut; restore paid access; provide support; prevent fraud, abuse, and excessive requests; diagnose failures; enforce our terms; handle disputes; and comply with accounting, tax, legal, and security obligations.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use essential signed cookies to remember purchase access and secure checkout completion. The editor also uses browser storage and IndexedDB to remember settings and, where supported, keep a local copy of an uploaded preview. These features are necessary for the editor and are not used for behavioural advertising. Clearing browser data may remove local settings or require you to restore a purchase by email.
5. Where information is processed
We use service providers to operate ProgressBar.today:
- Stripe for checkout and payment processing;
- Supabase for customer, purchase, access, and wallpaper configuration records;
- Cloudflare R2 for private source-photo storage and generated-image caching;
- Vercel for the public website and control API; and
- our VPS infrastructure for private rendering with Chromium and Redis.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours, where local law may permit government or legal access. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. How long we keep information
Active wallpaper configurations and source photos are retained while needed to provide the service. Generated daily images are temporary and may be replaced or automatically deleted. Expired upload reservations are cleaned up automatically. Purchase, fraud-prevention, tax, and accounting records may be retained for the period required by applicable law. Support and security records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose.
7. Security and token privacy
We use HTTPS, private storage, server-only credentials, signed cookies, short-lived upload links, access controls, rate limits, and hard-to-guess wallpaper tokens. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Your wallpaper token works like a bearer secret: anyone who obtains it may retrieve the associated wallpaper, so do not publish or share it.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; object to or restrict certain processing; or complain to a privacy regulator. Email us from the purchase address so we can verify the request. We may retain information that law requires us to keep and may refuse or limit a request where legally permitted.
9. Children
ProgressBar.today is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the service where reasonably practical.
11. Contact
Questions, access requests, correction requests, or deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].
